Tonight's a late night at the WFAC (we close at 9pm). Stop in after work to escape from the cold and immerse yourself in this summer scene risograph print by @juleskangsharpe.

Explore "August", "September", and "October", the three risograph prints, by local artist Jules Sharpe in the exhibition. Risograph printing is a paper stencil technique - a blend between screen printing and photocopying. Using a risograph machine, colors are printed one at a time, in layers, to build up to the final image.⁠

Today we're highlighting a lithographic stone from local artist, Nicolle St Cyr. Stones used for lithographic printing are generally limestone, most commonly quarried in Bavaria. The stone must be finely grained to accept a drawing. What is lithography you may ask? Lithography is a printmaking technique that involves drawing with a greasy material on smooth limestone or aluminum plates. A chemical mixture is applied to the plate or stone, altering the surface and allowing ink to attach only to the greasy areas and water to repel the ink on the non-greasy areas. ⁠

You can see lithographs on view in the exhibition as well as groupings of other printmaking techniques. Come visit today we're open until 5pm.⁠
