Full WaterFire Lightings light up over eighty braziers from Waterplace Park to Memorial/South Main Street Park. Lighting occurs shortly after sunset and the fires will remain lit until midnight (unless otherwise noted). Full lightings include onshore programming such as performance stages, art and food vendors, and the Starry, Starry Night installation in Memorial Park.⁠

Basin Lightings include the circle of twenty-two braziers in the Waterplace Park Basin and the eight braziers leading up to the Providence Place Mall.⁠

Make the WFAC a stop on #WaterFireDay (4/18!) for @gallerynightprovidence! ⁠

5-8pm, our new office gallery, thanks to collector and supporter, Joseph A. Chazan, M. D., is on view all evening. ⁠
⁠
6pm, join artist Willa Van Nostrand (@wmvn) in the gallery for a special garden-to-glass experience where she will activate INFLORESCENCE, a multi-tiered hand-blown glass fountain created by artist Eva Goodman (@evagoodmanglass), in an experiential performance. ⁠
⁠
Guests are invited to participate and taste a contemporary iteration of aqua vitae (Latin, “water of life”), a ceremonial beverage dating back to ancient Roman times. The elixir, inspired by the coming of spring here in New England, will feature local flower essences, edible blossoms, Rhode Island maple syrup, hand-harvested sea salt, and the option of spirit.⁠
⁠
6:30pm, one of @gallerynightprovidence’s trolley tours will leave the WFAC visit @bellgallerybrown, @riphotoarts, and then return to the WFAC. ⁠
⁠
On the third Thursday of the month (March - November), @gallerynightprovidence curates multiple timed trolley tours organized with partner galleries. All are welcome to explore the galleries on their own too, GNP Galleries, or see what GNP has put together for monthly suggestions to ‘Make Your Own Tour’. (see link in bio to learn more!)⁠

⭐️in the gallery this month⭐️ is ART is Everywhere: ART inc., a @rhodeislandpbs Exhibition, bringing the short-video series ART inc. from the screen to the gallery. Delving into the heart of human expression, the series illuminates the transformative power of art—from its ability to soothe and inspire to its role as a catalyst for societal change.
