Plastos Cups

$40.00

These cups are both uniquely beautiful works of art as well as functional cups. They are named “plastos” – the Greek word for “molded” – which gave us the word “plastic”, because they were formed from 2L plastic bottles. At about 4″ tall and 4″ in diameter these are the perfect cup size!

Description

About the Artist: Maxime Jean Lefebvre was born and raised in France. He moved to America to pursue his MFA in Printmaking at RISD. Maxime is inspired by history and systems of power, and by his experience as a foreigner in America. Through his current body of ceramic work, he is exploring relationships between commerce, systemization and the everyday familiar. Maxime is currently a resident artist at The Steel Yard, our neighbors across the river from the WaterFire Arts Center.
