Denzel Amoah is a local artist located in Providence who is apart of our 2022 – 2023 Accelerate Cohort. The mediums that Denzel often uses are collage, photography and sculpture, but also experiment with sensory phenomena, including sound and touch. Some of the themes that earlier work explored included identity and the ways in which humans negotiate/tap into multiplicities and the ways in which urban development leaves its mark on city spaces. newer work explores themes of memory as it pertains to place and spatial sensory experiences as well as mysticism through pulling from cultural symbols.
Denzel’s piece Kinship, 2023 is a 16″ x 20″ framed collage.
It is available for pick up at the Providence UNFI Cafe during their business hours (Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 2:30 pm.)
