About the Artist: Jenny Rachel Sparks is an interdisciplinary artist and person based out of Providence, RI. She earned degrees in Geology and Sculpture through the Brown/RISD Dual Degree program, and much of her work is based on people’s relationships to land, place and object. She enjoys making wood fired ceramics because of the communities the firing process fosters, the beauty and release of control over the surface, and the joy they bring people to use in everyday life. Jenny’s work has been exhibited in Providence, New Mexico and Rome. She is currently the Client Relations Manager at the Steel Yard.
